Volunteer as a Peer Mentor for our Community Support Agency mental health service in Bradford. Support and do activities with people who are dealing with mental health issues. We look favourably on volunteers who have past experience of mental health issues.
Horton Housing’s Training Centre administrator
We are looking for a volunteer to help us with basic administration duties at our training centre in Bradford. The role will consist of duties such as answering the phone, contacting clients about courses, preparing the rooms ready for classes, photocopying and some letter writing. The Training Centre is open from 9am – 5pm, Monday to Friday and we are looking for someone who can offer their time within this range, but we are very flexible to suit your needs. This volunteer role requires someone who has administrative experience and who is able to work under their own initiative in a busy working environment. We also require that the applicants English be between entry 3 and level 1 English.
Befriending service for New Communities team
We’re looking for volunteers who can offer their time in the evening and weekends to support clients with social activities such as leisure activities, cook and eat, going out to other areas in and around Bradford, and further afield. All the clients are male, under the age of 18 and have come to the UK unaccompanied, so we need someone who has the time and skills to be able to support this group of vulnerable people. Ability to speak another language is desirable but not essential.
New Communities interpreter
The New Communities team in Bradford is looking for people with the following language skills: Arabic, Swahili, Somali, Tigrinya or Oromo to help assist support workers by acting as an interpreter. This is not a routine role – you will be called upon when needed. We are looking to build a pool of volunteers for this role who can be called upon to assist.
